Minister Vulin: The Serbian Armed Forces appreciate the support and assistance of the People’s Republic of China




 
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, together with Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade, Chen Bo, visited a display, held in the barracks “Narodni Heroj Stevica Jovanović” in Pančevo, of a segment of assets and equipment donated by the People’s Republic of China to the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
According to Minister Vulin, the People’s Republic of China has, by this latest donation, demonstrated once again how much it appreciated the friendship of the Republic of Serbia and Serbian Armed Forces.
 
- Until now, the People’s Republic of China has allocated eight million and nine hundred thousand euros through different donations for our armed forces, and this particular donation amounts to almost four million euros – Minister Vulin said sending a message that the Serbian Armed Forces highly appreciated the friendship with the People’s Republic of China.
 
As he stated, the personal relations of supreme commanders of the two countries, President Aleksandar Vučić and President Xi Jinping, had created opportunities for further development of mutual relations and opened all doors when it came to relations with the Ministry of Defence.
 
- The People’s Republic of China and Serbia are the friends of steel, and they support each other at all international fora. We can see here how much assistance the Serbian Armed Forces receive and how respected they are by the People’s Liberation Army of China. For our Engineer units this is a great support and great assistance. For the first time after so many decades we will have an entire battalion equipped with the latest technical equipment, all new assets, everything that will largely assist primarily our citizens, local self-governments, civilians, all those who require assistance when new road has to be made or in case of flood or when snow has to be cleared – Minister Vulin sent a message.
 
Owing to the donation of the PR China, The Serbian Armed Forces will have more capabilities to assist their country and their people – Minister Vulin explains who, along with expressing his personal gratitude for the assistance to the People’s Republic of China, expressed his hope that the relations between the two armed forces would be further deepened, and assistance such those continued.
 
Ambassador Chen Bo stated that she was very glad that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces were satisfied with received assets and training for their use.
 
- I am glad that the engineering machines and vehicles will be useful for development of Serbian military. I consider the cooperation between our two armed forces as an integral part of our all-encompassing partnership. The recent visit of our President of the Central Military Committee to Serbia was very successful, which is greatly important for strengthening of cooperation between our two militaries in the future – Ambassador Bo said and added that Minister Vulin and Chief of General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces General Mojsilović attached great importance to the cooperation of the two armed forces which is highly appreciated by Chinese side.
 
The People’s Republic of China has donated 40 assets to the Serbian Armed Forces, of which 28 were presented at today’s display which include self-propelled engineering machines, motor vehicles, integral transport means and special vehicles.
 
According to Deputy Commander of River Flotilla, Colonel Dragan Bojić, the donated assets, primarily the engineering machines, will largely enhance operational capabilities of the Army for realisation of engineering and counter-engineering actions, and also, they will be used during elimination of consequences of natural and other technical and technological disasters.
 
- We have received assets of extreme quality, with good specifications. We have already tried them out, and we had an opportunity to be trained on them with assistance of Chinese instructors and they have proved to be high quality, modern assets – Colonel Bojić explains noting that the received assets included self-propelled engineering machines (motor graders, tracked dozers, wheeled dozers, and rollers), transport assets (towing trains, self-dischargers, car-cisterns for water, fuel car-cistern), assets for integral transport (forklift), ambulances and fire engines.
 
Today’s display of the assets was attended by the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, Head of Operations Department of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Major General Želimir Glišović, Commander of the First Army Brigade, Brigadier General Zoran Nasković and Head of Private Office of the Minister of Defence Brigadier General Siniša Kresović.
