Ministry of Defense urges politicians not to manipulate residents of “Bristol” hotel

On the occasion of the continued political abuses of the situation of the former “Bristol” hotel residents, the Ministry of Defense wishes to recall that the former “Bristol” hotel has been abandoned, that it is no longer maintained, and that the Ministry of Defense cannot take responsibility for the conditions in which former Bristol residents are living. After the Member of Parliament Balša Božović replaced the locks on the abandoned building five days ago, the Ministry of Defense has no control over who enters or leaves Bristol. Responsibility for the condition of the building and the safety of residents who refuse to transfer to other accommodation can only be assigned to those who have the keys of the changed locks, viz. the MP Božović and the former hotel tenants.

The Ministry of Defense recalls once again that all residents who are entitled to housing are offered to take apartments in A block in New Belgrade, and those who do not have the right are offered to move to other bachelor quarters of the Serbian Armed Forces. The Ministry of Defense urges politicians not to manipulate the Bristol residents. The Ministry reiterates that it will not be held responsible for the security of the occupants of the abandoned hotel “Bristol” and once again urges them to move into the apartments at their disposal.
