The 204th anniversary of the Battle of Ljubić and the anniversary of the death of Tanasko Rajic marked



The delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces has participated in the celebration of the 204th anniversary of the Battle of Ljubić and the anniversary of the death of Tanasko Rajić by laying wreaths at the monument to Tanasko Rajić at Ljubić hill near Čačak.
 
The wreaths were laid by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Morava Administrative District, the City of Čačak, as well as representatives of numerous associations and citizens.
 
The organiser of the state commemorative ceremony is the Committee for preserving traditions of Serbian liberation wars.
 
The Battle of Ljubić took place on 6th June 1815, and it was the most important one in the Second Serbian Uprising. On that occasion, guarding the cannons, Tanasko Rajić, commander of the Serbian artillery, was killed.
