President Vučić Visited the Injured UNMIK Member at the MMA

President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić and Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Chepurin, accompanied by Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović, visited today at the Military Medical Academy a national of the Russian Federation Mikhail Krasnoshchenkov, an UNIMK member who had been injured during the action in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and who was transferred to that institution from the Clinical-Hospital Centre Kosovska Mitrovica for further treatment.

Following a conversation with the injured Russian diplomat and familiarisation with his medical condition, President Vučić expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Krasnoshchenkov’s state was very good.

- After such heavy blows it is not easy to be in good condition. There was a great danger and great fear that the bones of the scull were fractured, and our doctors were examining the posterior chamber of the eye all through the night and they finally established that the situation was good. We have done a lot of thinking, after having received the description of the situation which the people attacked by Albanian forces went through. We thought that is had happened somewhere by chance, that someone had unintentionally hit someone with the stock, and that it was a mistake. But there was no mistake whatsoever on their part, and they did it on purpose with an intention to strike terror into the hearts of the entire Serbian population, and they did not much care for the fact that it was a Russian citizen, who was first and foremost a UN administration officer – President Vučić stressed.

Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the president underlined that the actions like the one we had witnessed in the previous days in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, were aimed at “striking the terror in the hearts of the Serbs”.

Head of the MMA, Colonel Misroslav Vukosavljević MD informed President Vučić about the health state of the patient and emphasised that the hospitalised Russian diplomat had suffered a severe body injury that could have had much graver consequences than it did. He added that the patient had a fracture of his cheekbone, and that they prevented spreading of complications to portions of bone and cerebral structures, and to the eye as well.

- We have cleaned everything and currently there is no danger of any more serious complications and consequences and we will continue with the treatment – Colonel Vukosavljević stressed.
