Footballers and Management of “Partizan” Visited the Exhibition “Defence 78”

Management and players of the Football Club “Partizan” visited today the exhibition of the Ministry of Defence “Defence 78” during the event “Night of Museums” dedicated to promotion of cultural establishments.

After the tour, the club President, Milorad Vučelić, underlined that the exhibition had a historical significance and that it provoked everybody’s emotions about the brutal aggression against our country.

- I would like to stress that this is also a supreme aesthetic experience. This exhibition belongs to the group of top class exhibitions, at European and world level. In this space, with such a multimedia set up, among the models and numerous associations and authentic objects, there is something truly impressive – the Club President Vučelić stressed adding that aesthetic plausibility placed this exhibition in the class of the best exhibitions presented in last several years in the area.

According to him, this exhibition should be available to visitors as long as possible so that more people could see it, since it deserves it with its content.

The exhibition was also visited by Manager of Technical Staff of the Football Club “Partizan” Savo Milošević, who first of all underlined that he was impressed the most by the way in which the exhibition presented the events it is dedicated to, adding that he had had an opportunity to see several exhibitions around the world dedicated to great sufferings.

- This is the highest possible level when you want to explain something to people who come here. Otherwise, I think that NATO bombardment is one of the greatest crimes of modern humanity when certain countries joined, and, violating all UN charters and international law, attacked one independent country punishing those who had done nothing wrong – Milošević emphasised.

Milošević added that the exhibition in the Museum of the City of Belgrade belongs to those places important for the Serbian people that should be visited by all, especially having in mind that there are young people born after 1999 who are not aware of what took place then, and that is something that we must never forget.

Footballer Bojan Ostojić was one of the football players of the Football Club “Partisan” who visited the exhibition today, and he underlined that it had particular emotional value for him since his brother Zoran participated in combat actions at that period.

- Impressions are very strong, especially when one visits the room dedicated to children killed during NATO bombardment. At the time of bombardment in 1999, I was a child, I was 15 and my oldest brother was wounded in Kosovo and Metohija in a place called Glogovac, and I remember that and all kinds of information that we received about him then, but, fortunately, today he is alive and well and we celebrate that date – Ostojić emphasised.

The management, the first team and doyens of the Football Club “Partizan” had an opportunity to see with expert guidance the multimedia exhibition of the Ministry of Defence which in a unique way presents heroic defence of the country throughout 78 days of NATO aggression, which is dedicated to fallen members of the armed forces, police and civilians, among whom, sadly, there had been many children.

The multimedia interactive set up of the exhibition “Defence 78” by the author Dušan Jovović is divided in eight parts, and the exhibits include video and printed material presented to the public for the first time.
