2nd sports championship closes



By winner ceremony, and by awarding diplomas, cups and prizes the second SAF sports championship ended.

The SAF army team was proclaimed as the winner of the championship. This team was presented with a championship cup by LTG Miloje Miletic. The second place in an overall placement went to the Training Command, while the Medical Academy won the third place. SAF GS team came in fourth, while Air Force team ranked fifth.


After five days of competing, the first place in military multi event went to the Training Command, the SAF Army tam came in second, while the third place in sports multi event went to the Military Academy

The shooters of the SAF army team had the steadiest hand, while the shooters from the Training Command came in second, and the Military Academy team came in third.

In women’s competition, Vanja Mrdja, cadet of the Military Academy was best in the automatic gun shooting, while Ana Tadic and Sandra Radivojevic came in second and third respectively. Senior Sergeant Irena Ognjanovic of SAF GS team, while Ruzica Stefanovic came in second from MA team. Tanja Ivanovic, Senior Sergeant with SAF GS team came in third.

Air Force team scored the highest number of points in orienteering in men’s competition followed by the army and SAF GS teams.

Only the representatives of the Military Academy competed in orienteering, where the first place went to Marijana Markovic, the second went to Sladjana Djordjevic and the third to Dusica Radovanovic.

In judo, the Military Academy team won the first place, while the judo contestants from the training and army team came in second and third respectively and air force team.


The training command athletes won the first place in an overall placement, the second place went to the MA team and the third to Army team.
Army team won the footsal competition, while MA and the Training Command came in second and third, while the Training Command was the best in volleyball, ahead of the Army and GS teams.

Unlike last year, all first place winners were declared best athletes.

In his closing address, Gen Miletic aid that fair play and camaraderie were the key messages of this event stressing that this meant that sports had reclaimed its repute in the army.
