Preparations for the Demonstration of Capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Defence of Freedom”
More than 4000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and Ministry of Interior are intensively preparing for a demonstration of capabilities which is going to take place on 10th May 2019 in Niš (Nikola Tesla Boulevard).
Today’s rehearsal was attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Major General Petar Cvetković.
The Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović is responsible for the preparations, organisation and execution of the demonstration, and he stressed that the members of the Army , Air Forces and Air Defence and the Ministry of Interior were preparing full steam ahead to successfully conduct the demonstration of the armed forces and police in order to mark the Day of Victory in a dignified and glorious manner to the satisfaction of the citizens of Niš and Serbia.
- This is a way to show our readiness to protect our fatherland Serbia and protect the citizens of the Republic of Serbia, expressing love towards military and police profession. I invite the citizens of Serbia and Niš to come on 10th May and be together with the soldiers and policemen – General Simović stressed.He especially commended Display Commander, Brigadier General Vladeta Baltić and Gendarmerie Commander Police Colonel Dejan Luković who with their associates made maximal efforts so that the display went in the best possible way.
Gendarmerie Commander Police Colonel Luković emphasised that the members of the Ministry of Interior were ready to present their capabilities, weapons and equipment, such as armoured vehicles, protective equipment and police assets.
The programme of the display encompasses ceremonial march-past of an Infantry echelon, march-past of the motorised echelon, flypast of an air echelon and parachute jumps.The programme envisages the participation of some 300 fighting and non-fighting vehicles and systems and around 40 aircraft.
The citizens of Niš and Serbia who attend the presentation of capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and MI of the Republic of Serbia on 10th May in Nikola Tesla Boulevard in Niš, will have an opportunity to see combat infantry vehicles, tanks, fighting vehicles “Hammer”, artillery systems “Oganj”, fighting vehicles “Lazar”, artillery weapons “Nora”, air defence rocket systems, armoured vehicles of Gendarmerie, police vehicles, assets developed by Serbian defence industry companies “Šumadija“, “Alas”, “Miloš”, “Oganj modular”, “Oganj digital”, “Passars” and modern weapons and equipment from the projects “1500” and “1500+”.
