Continuation of Filming the Serial “Military Academy”

Today, the Ministry of Defence and Radio Television of Serbia signed an agreement in the RTS premises on the joint realisation of a project and continuation of filming the fifth season of the popular feature serial “Military Academy”.

Emphasising the satisfaction with the successful cooperation on the filming of the serial “Military Academy”, which has been lasting for eight years now between the Ministry of Defence, RTS and production house “Nira Pro”, Colonel Mihailo Zogović looked back on the foundations of the good cooperation chiefly with the RTS, both in informative and educational, and entertainment domains. According to him, this is best evidenced by record viewing of all joint projects of these institutions.

Colonel Zogović says that the fifth season of the “Military Academy” is going to be more “military like” than the previous four which will bring additional quality.

- Apart from promotion of military profession, this series is important because, besides its entertaining character, it also has a pronounced educational character and significance. If we know that the youngest population watches the series, its importance is even greater. The serial promotes positive values, first of all the loyalty to the fatherland, courage, humanity, friendship, solidarity which are some of the founding values of the Serbian Armed Forces. I believe that this series is going to be more exciting than the previous four since we will see dramatization of execution of some special military tasks, which was not the case in previous series.

Director General of the RTS Dragan Bujošević highlighted the importance of the fifth season of the popular series as well.

- This series is important for the RTS. We consider it to be a part of our socially responsible work and socially responsible behaviour, since the people from the armed forces could better explain what it truly means and what this series has done for the promotion of military profession - Bujošević said, also stressing that they expected high ratings of the upcoming sequel and that largest share of the viewers in the age group from 13 to over 20.

Noting that the fifth season, like previous ones, is an expression of the audience desire to continue the serial “Military Academy”, director Dejan Zečević said that a great effort was made in every respect in the new 10 episodes to be presented to the audience.

- We make a great effort in terms of production, organisation and creative work to make this season special and offer some new attractions. We want all those values, which we spoke about, and which are essential and crucial, to follow some trends related to the modern television expression, since we do not want to appear as a retro project, but we will offer the audience a modern season, with very attractive sequences, that will match modern production aspirations and requirements of the audience - Zečević announced.

In the new episodes, the greatest attention is going to be paid to professional challenges of the characters that the viewers have already met in previous seasons. Dramaturgical focus will be placed on media attractive units of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Chief coordinator of the project on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces is Colonel Nikola Žulović, and 11 expert consultants from all the units involved in the series were selected to help that different areas of life and work of characteristic establishments of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces are plausibly depicted to the viewers.

The filming of the fifth season of the series “Military Academy” is going to take place in the period from 1st May to 1st August 2019, and the first take is planned to be on the airfield Batajnica.

Today’s signing of the contract was also attended by Nele Garić from the production house “Nira Pro” and representatives by the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
