2nd sports chamiponship starts
In the Sombor-based barracks the second Sports Military Championship was opened today. In five days from 15 to 19 June in the training fields of the barracks and of the towns of Sombor and Apatin, 400 best contestants comprising 5 competition teams: SAF GS, Army, Training Commad, Air Force and Military Academy teams will be competing for the titles of the best athlete in SAF.Sports championship was opened by LTG Miloje Miletic, SAF GS Chief, who stressed that 6000 contestants had participated in the contests, preceding this year’s championship.
« After three-month qualifications, the most prepared and the readiest were qualified. This year’s competition is more demanding and stricter as all rules have been harmonized with CISM rules and regulations, “as LTG Miletic said.
Ljiljana Sokolova Djokic, Chairperson of the ZapadnI Banat Management District and Zivorad Smiljanic, president of Apatin municipality, wished pleasant stay to the contestants.Seven sports disciplines are envisioned by the program: archery, orienteering, military multi-event, footsal, volleyball and judo. The opening ceremony was, besides LTG Miletic, attended by other reps of MoD, GS, as well as of local self-government, local companies and numerous citizens of these municipalities.
