Free of charge medical examinations on the occasion of the MMA Day

The Military Medical Academy organized free specialist examinations marking 175 years of the institution’s work. Examinations for prevention of the most common diseases were organized yesterday and today with specialists in urology and radiology, as well as examinations of rheumatologists.
According to the Head of the MMA, Colonel prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljević, the initiative of free examinations is a traditional gift for all citizens on the eve of the 2 March – the birthday of the MMA. In this way, he said, they are rewarding and nurturing the long-established trust of people in the military health service, also continuously and repeatedly reminding that prevention is the mother of healing.

- There is always a lot of interest in the MMA examinations, and in some specialties this is especially noticeable. That is why, at the level of the Ministry of Defense, an initiative has been launched to establish regular medical examinations in all military medical institutions as a regular yearly activity. This contributes immensely to the prevention of the most common diseases, but also rises the awareness of citizens that health care is the task of every individual – said Colonel Vukosavljević.
Patient D.R. (53) from Belgrade has taken mammography examination for the first time. As she said, although she has repeatedly heard that mammography after a certain number of years is a necessary step in the prevention of a very common malignancy, has not been examined so far.

“My daughter scheduled my appointment and I am very satisfied with the review, above all because the result indicates that everything is fine,” said the lady from Belgrade, praising the initiative of free specialist examinations at military health institutions.
