National Assembly Speaker laid wreath at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Avala



On the occasion of the Statehood Day and with the highest state and military honors, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojković, as the envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Avala, accompanied by the Commander of the Land Forces, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović and the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, Major General, Duško Žarković today.

This remains a vow to all future generations and a path that we will walk unified and steadfast into the future. May your glory be as everlasting as our gratitude is – the National Assembly Speaker wrote in the Memorial Book.

Today, Serbia celebrates Statehood Day in memory of Sretenje of 1804 when the First Serbian Uprising occurred and the same date of 1835, when the first modern constitution of Serbia was adopted.
