Military Grammar School graduation ceremony



The graduation ceremony in honor of 82 students of 33rd class of the Military Grammar School in Belgrade was held on Friday at the Military Academy. The ceremony, besides the students and their teachers, was also attended by the military superiors of this school and the Head of the Military Academy Major General Vidosav Kovacevic, Head of the Education Department Brigadier General Mladen Vuruna and the representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church professor Radovan Bigovic, PhD.
In his congratulator address, Head of the Military Grammar School Milan Stevic, MA said: Four years ago you started your education in a school with a 39-year long tradition and an honorary place in the country and the society. You achieved so much and learned many things and boys turned into fine, mature youths this school takes pride in. WE aimed at teaching you much more, as now you are an example to your generation. Most of you will continue their studies at the Academy. You should be proud of your 33rd class, as the memory of those days spent in the Military Grammar School will remain in graved in your memory until the rest of your lives. This grammar school will remain part of you for as long as you shall live, and you will make its 33rd class of students.

Top three students-Ivan Sibinovic, Dusan Rudovic and Dimitrije Becarevic were awarded watches with inscription engraved on the inside. Seniros of the Military Grammar School Aleksandar Vidakovic, Nemanja Smajovic and Petar Stefanovic were awarded special stationery sets, while Sasa Stanic, Milutin Babic, Nemanja Zoric and Mihailo Curcici received books. The awards were presented by Mladen Vuruna, Head of the MoD Education Department.

“Borko Nikitovic” fund annual award was awarded to the top student of 33rd class. The fund was established in 1993 by the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian armed forces. The award was presented by Zora Nikitovic, mother of late Borko Nikitovic, who graduated from the Grammar School in 1987 and was killed in the battles near Vukovar in 1993 while trying to save one of his comrades.

The average grade of the class is 3.82. Major Vidosav Kovacevic wished them much success in their further studies, while, on behalf of their headmasters, Dragica Maslesa wished them excellent professional career along with the Head of the class Corvette Lieutenant Miroslav Citic.

The ceremony was accompanied by the music program of “Stanislav Binicki” art ensemble.
