State Secreatry Spasojevic receives the Spanish delegation



State Secretary Dusan Spasoejvic received the delegation of MoD of the Kingdom of Spain led by the Spanish State Secretary for Defense Policy Luis Questa Sivis.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation, and the domains for further cooperation were also define. High level visits were agreed upon in the upcoming period.

Recalling the political-security situation in the region,, State Secretary Spasojevic voiced the main positions of our state policy with respect to the most important security issue in the region, namely, the Kosovo issue. He thanked Spain for its principled support to Serbia for its preservation of the basic principles of the international law and emphasized how important it was that Spain had not recognized the unilateral independence of Kosovo.

State Secretary Questa once again reiterated that Spain was firm in its position as regards the Kosovo issue expressing full support to the European integrations of Serbia.

The joint conclusion of the meeting was to allow the countries in the region to have a clear European future, as EU integrations present the only long-term guarantor of stability and security in this part of Europe.

State Secretary Spasojevic and State Secretary Questa signed the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2009.
