Minister Vulin: We are creating modern armed forces made up of satisfied staff
Answering a journalist’s question about recently adopted military budget, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin underlined that he was very much satisfied with it, just like were all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces as well. He expressed gratitude for the personal contribution of the President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and of the Government of Serbia.
- I am grateful for their understanding and for their acknowledging the importance of investing in the armed forces in order to restore the Serbian Armed Forces to their rightful place, since they were methodically devastated from 2000 to 2012. The stronger, better organised and equipped our armed forces are, the freer we will be and the safer and more secure the economic climate in our country will be, since when you have a stable and secure Serbia, you will have investors and people will tie their life and capital to the country – Minister Vulin explained.
According to him, the President of Serbia was once the Minister of Defence and that is why “it is much easier, since he understands what and how much the Serbian Armed Forces require in order to create good and equipped military consisting of satisfied soldiers”.- The greatest portion of our budget goes to replenishment, acquisition of new systems and increase in salaries of the members. This year as well, we had a 10 per cent salary increase, and the following year the new budget will allow for additional 9 per cent, the daily allowances were increased, solidary assistance for the birth of a child was introduced, the housing issues are being resolved, and soon the construction of the flats for all the members of security will start and I am especially grateful to the President of the Republic for his personal contribution in order for the ministers and Serbian Government to understand how much the armed forces require – Minister Vulin pointed out.
He sent a message that every investment in the Serbian Armed Forces is the investment in better life of every one of us, and that “when you invest in military health, you have invested in security, safety and health of every citizen of Serbia”.
- When you invest in equipment and organisation of the military, you have invested in the protection of each and every one of us and you have ensured that we live a dignified life, the way we should, for only free Serbia is worth living in, and there is no free Serbia without powerful and organised Serbian Armed Forces. We are creating equipped and modern military which consists of satisfied staff who love their country – concluded Minister Vulin.
