Telegram of condolence to US Secretary of Defence
On the occasion of a tragic accident when US service members were killed in an explosion in Afghanistan, Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin sent a telegram of condolences to US Secretary of Defence James Mattis. The telegram reads:
“All the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have been deeply moved by the news of the tragic accident when the American soldiers were killed and injured in an explosion in Afghanistan. The Serbian people are well aware of the pain inflicted by the loss of soldiers’ lives, therefore we sympathise with your grief. Extremism, as a foreshadowing of terrorism, represents an evil which adversely affects all the peoples, and that is why every free man should be obliged to combat it.
On behalf of all the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, and on my personal behalf, please convey our sincere condolences to the families of the perished, and wishes for a fast recovery to the injured.”
