Minister Vulin: Kosovo army can disturb the entire Balkans

“Serbia decisively opposes any creation of not an army but a paramilitary force in Kosovo because it cannot be an army. In order for you to have an army you must first be a state, and as we know Kosovo is a territory under the administration of the United Nations in accordance with Resolution 1244, so there can be no armed forces except for KFOR”, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said after a humanitarian basketball game in Niš, asked to comment on the creation of the Kosovo army.

"In all world forums and wherever we can, we will consistently advocate for and very persistently and stubbornly fight for not allowing any paramilitary to be formed in Kosovo and Metohija. Giving unarmed terrorists heavy weaponry and expecting the situation to be calm and stable is not possible. It is up to us to fight and confront, and the international community is to show that they make good on their promise. We have the promise of the NATO Pact that no armed formations of the Albanians will be able to appear north of the Ibar river without the prior indications and consent of the NATO Pact and all four mayors of the Serb municipalities in the north. That must be respected. The promise of the international community must be respected if it cares not only for peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija, but for peace and stability in the entire Balkans. Paramilitary formation in the area of Kosovo cannot contribute to peace and stability, but it can contribute to unrest and disorder and can disturb the entire Balkans”, Minister Vulin said.
