Serbian Armed Forces at the Event “Days of Freedom”




 
Today, in the framework of the event the “Days of Freedom” which is taking place in Belgrade, from 19th October to 1st November, memorial march past was held titled “Stride of victory towards liberty” from Iguman’s Palace to the Palace of Albania.

Today’s march past included representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, and 30 cadets of the Military Academy who headed the procession carrying flags of the units of People’s Liberation Army which participated in the fight for liberation of Belgrade and together with the units of the Red Army freed our capital 74 years ago.
 
Today’s ceremony was opened by Deputy Mayor of the City of Belgrade Goran Vesić. During the march past, numerous citizens, and representatives of SUBNOR, carried the photographs of their ancestors - participants in the liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War.
 
The memorial parade “Stride of victory towards liberty” is part of an event “Days of Freedom” organised to mark 74th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War.
 
Following the march past, a music-artistic programme was organised in front of the Palace of Albania titled “Liberation-victory through music and dance”.
 
In the framework of the said event, the wreaths were laid at the Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade, at the Monument to a Soviet Soldier in the Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade in the Second World War and at the Monument to Soviet veterans on Avala. The wreaths were also laid by the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
