Minister Vulin: Evil always comes from oblivion
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, as envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, attended today the 70th anniversary of the existence of the Alliance of Associations of the National Liberation War Veterans.
Congratulating the great jubilee to the members of the SUBNOR, Minister Vulin, the envoy of the President, pointed out that 70 years in the memory of civilization seem to be roo short time so that we do not need to prove the undeniable truth again.
- SUBNOR should have been the organization of people who remember and mark events from the past, making sure that the horror of Fascism will not be repeated. Nevertheless, it seems that the period of seventy years was sufficient to forget the truth about World War II, to forget the terrible crimes and horrors and to prepare for their repetition. Every evil always comes from oblivion, Minister Vulin said.He pointed out that there is no living creature who saw Jasenovac, Auschwitz or the Old Fairground who can think that these horrors will ever be repeated again. But it seems again, as the world changes to the worse, that the horrors of the World War II can be repeated. Who could even think, seven decades ago, that somebody would say that Jasenovac was a labour camp, that no child was killed in it and that this was not a place of great suffering. Whole states and ideologies come up with the view that caves in Jadovno, Hercegovina and Krajina actually did not exist or were not sufficiently full, Minister Vulin said.
- Serbia did not ask for a single war. Others asked for it and brought it, trying only to leave a feeling of collective guilt in us. Because we were silent about Jasenovac, and we kept silent for a long time, we witnessed Storm operation that happened to us.Dušan Ćukič, President of the Republic Committee of SUBNOR Serbia, pointed out that the people of Serbia also showed in the Second World War that they have always been on the path of justice, freedom and independence and that they have never give up that path until present day.
- SUBNOR, like others, felt a revanchist hand on his skin and cannot bypass the ongoing attempts at revising history, counterfeiters of the events and embezzling among the antifascists of evident collaborators, he said, adding that SUBNOR was continuing to continue its continuous efforts to the retrograde spirit of revanchism will be sealed in order to keep our only and beloved Serbia in the path of prosperity.
