Minister Vulin: We are preserving traditions that made our army great

On the eve of the Serbian Armed Forces Cup – Karađorđevo 2018 event to be held at the military horse farm near Bačka Palanka, between 28th and 30th September, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today the Karađorđevo horse farm, where the final preparations for the forthcoming competition are underway, gathering after 12 years, at that place, all lovers of equestrian sports.

After the visit, Minister Vulin pointed out that, just as the Serbian Armed Forces is intensively acquiring equipment and arms, as it ensures that the training of our members is at the highest level, it is also striving to preserve all those traditions that made the army great and all the traditions that make the army part of our everyday life.

- So, we are renewing the traditional horse race that will be practiced in Karađorđevo as of this year, under the title “Serbian Armed Forces Cup – Cavalry Division Race”. We are returning what has always adorned the Serbian army, remembering our brave warriors, our cavalry and remembering all those who made the Serbian Armed Forces truly great and worthy of admiration and respect – the minister of defence said.

As Minister Vulin announced, the programme will last for three days, from Friday to Sunday when the main races are held.

- All guests of Bačka Palanka and all guests of Karađorđevo will be able to see how much efforts the Serbian Armed Forces invested to make another, important, beautiful and big thing, something we may have wrongly forgotten, but everyone will be able to see how much efforts the army is investing in improving everyday life of every citizen of our country – Minister Vulin said.

He also invited all fans of equestrian sports to come to Bačka Palanka next weekend, and particularly on Sunday at 12 o'clock, because this is an opportunity to see the best trotter and galloper programme, and to see, for the first time, a platoon of our cavalry within our Guard, which, after a long time, has been restored and returned to the Serbian Armed Forces, where it belongs.
