The delegation of the Ministry of Defense at the Arms Fair in Turkey
Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac is leading the delegation of MoD visiting Istanbul and the 9th International Defence Industry Fair - IDEF 09). „The Euro-Asian meeting“, which is the official name of this great fair manifestation, is held from 27 to 30th April with more than 100 participants from 45 countries in the world. The organizer is the Turkish Foundation of military forces, under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey. There will also be delegations from 73 countries.
The Fair was opened by the Turkish Prime Minister Redep Tajip Erdogan, while the opening address was given by the Minister of Defense Vekdi Gonul, who is also the chairperson of IDEF 09, who stressed that the fair became a platform for regional cooperation, to follow technological progress and to implement procurement programs.
The delegation of MoD met with the Turkish Defense Minister, Mr Gonul, and held a number of meetings with the delegations of Algiers, Pakistan, the Czech Republic, Egypt and Kenya.The main topics were military cooperation especially military economy cooperation. Both sides showed interest in the products of our defense industry, and we expect this year to be as good as the next one, regardless of the economic crisis, Minister said.
