Discussion in principle on laws in the field of defence continues




This year's Fourth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly is being continued at the Grand Hall of the National Assembly House, today, where a discussion in principle on a set of laws in the field of defence is being held.
 
Yesterday, the first day of the discussion in principle began with the explanation of the bills by Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, after which the heads of parliamentary groups and MPs commented and criticised the proposals.
 
Yesterday, the MPs adopted the agenda of the Fourth Sitting, which has 14 items, because in addition to 13 items proposed by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Maja Gojković, they adopted the Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Serbian Radical Party Parliamentary Group.
 
The agenda of the session included the Proposal of the Decision on the Adoption of the Annual Plan for the Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defence Forces in Multinational Operations in 2018, then the Proposal of the Decision on the Participation of Serbian Armed Forces Personnel in Multinational Operations in 2018.
 
The MPs also discussed the Bill on Military Education, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Defence, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Serbian Armed Forces, and the Bill on Production and Trade in Weapons and Military Equipment.
 
The seventh item on the agenda is the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defence Forces in Multinational Operations outside of the Republic of Serbia Borders, the eighth item is the 8.      Bill amending and modifying the Law on Military, Labour and Material Obligations, and the ninth one is the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Security Information Agency.
 
The Agenda also includes the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the State of Israel on Military, Defence and Defence Industry Cooperation, the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Greece on Cooperation within the Athens Multinational Sealift Coordination Centre (AMSCC).
 
The last two items of the agenda are the Bill on the Confirmation of the Aviation Cooperation Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Romania.
