OTEH 2009
In the Military Technical Institute today the constitutional session of the organizational board of 3rd scientific-expert conference OTEH 2009 scheduled for Octobers 8 and 9 was held. The first session was opened by Colonel Mladen Pantic director of VTI. This session was also attended by Ilija Pilipovic, Assistant Minister for Material Resources, and Brigadier Generals Darko Jovanovic, Head of the Defense Technologies Department, and Brig. Gen. Mitar Kovac Head of the Strategic Planning Department, and Mladen Vuruna, PhD, Head of the Department of Military Education and the representatives of institutions participating in OTEH.
The members of the Organizational and Program Board and the Secretariat have been elected, and the dynamics of papers submitted (deadline is 15 July) has been agred upon along with the consideration of proposed themes. He novelty is a robotized combat system, and special attention will be given to the presentations of work of young authors.
Ilija Pilipovic was elected for the President of the Organizational Board, and here he stressed that the last OTEH 2007 was proclaimed the largest scientific conference in Serbia wishing this conference could get an international character.
Pilipovic said that in June last year the Serbian Government passed an ordinance which limits MoD’s purchases to domestic arms manufacturers, and can only get those products which are not produced in our country. This is why we have the idea to boost the growth of domestic science and of the defense industry in order to make higher-quality arms systems.The participants of today’s meeting were presented with the functioning of the SORA artillery system.
