Success of the Athletes of the Serbian Armed Forces




 
The competitive part of the 31st Belgrade Marathon included the participation of 190 members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces and the most successful in national competition were Lieutenant Nevena Jovanović from “Kobre” Military Police Battalion who won the 3rd place in the overall competition in female semi-marathon and Lieutenant Colonel Nenad Milosavljević from Training and Doctrine Department (J-7) of GS SAF, who won the 3rd place in the overall male marathon competition.

Apart from the competition, the members of the MoD and SAF also participated in the organisational segment of the programme for the 31st Belgrade Marathon. On refreshment points along the track and at the finish line some 70 cadets of the Military Academy were engaged together with 50 pupils of the Military Grammar School with 15 PE professors from the Military Academy and organisational units of SAF GS.
 
The 31st Belgrade Marathon was held with the record-braking number of participants from 72 countries, with the 28,000 runners – 7,300 runners of marathon and semi-marathon and more than 20,000 participants of five kilometres long “Pleasure Race”.
