Display of Arms and Military Equipment Attracted a Great Number of Citizens
On the eve of the celebration of the Day of Serbian Armed Forces, the members of Air Force and Air Defence presented to the citizens of Aranđelovac a part of technical assets in use by this arm of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The citizens of that town had an opportunity to see missile and radar assets, modern telecommunication assets and devices for quick data transfer and a part of infantry weapons. Although the start of the display was initially planned for today at 11 o’clock, but it practically started yesterday in the afternoon, during the placement of missile assets on the premises of the Old Edifice in the centre of Aranđelovac, when the citizens came in great numbers to see the installation of missiles on launching weapons and erecting the radar antennas.
At the same time as in Aranđelovac, the displays of arms and military equipment were organised today by Army in Loznica and Čačak, while the programme for the citizens of Vršac and surroundings that was organised by Command for Development of Banat Brigade, included the participation of Fire Rescue Battalion from Pančevo (unit from Vršac), Red Cross Organisation from Vršac and Organisation of reserve servicemen from southern Banat. The larger assets presented in this town encompassed Tank T-72, POLO M83 and Howitzer 122mm D30J.
The total number of visitors of the static displays held yesterday in Vrbas, Pirot, Smederevo and Bor and today in Aranđelovac, Loznica, Čačak and Vršac amounts to tens of thousands. As usual, the majority of questions for the members of the Serbian Armed Forces came from children and youth who were glad to record their exhilaration by taking photographs. To mark the Day of the Serbian Armed Forces, the static displays of arms and military equipment are going to be organised tomorrow as well in Kikinda, Jagodina, Ivanjica and Surdulica.
