Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has met today with the delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly led by President of the Sub-Committee on Future Security and Defence Capabilities of Defence and Security Committee, Joao Rebelo.

The meeting was about security challenges in the region and regional cooperation in the field of defence.

During the talks, the Minister of Defence informed the Delegation that the Republic of Serbia is open to cooperation with its partners in both the West and the East and that it will not give up military neutrality, which is a permanent commitment of the Republic of Serbia

Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Vulin emphasized that the main security threat for the Republic of Serbia is the process of illegal and violent secession of the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija , and that the establishment of the so-called  Kosovo Armed Forces is not acceptable and does not comply with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.

The interlocutors agreed that the cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and NATO will continue in the framework of the Partnership for Peace programme.
