42nd World Military Championship ends

In the House of Guards in Topcider, 42nd world military championship in marathon and 1st FIFA-CISM footsal was closed on Saturday evening. Major General Vidosav Kovacevic, the Head of the Military Academy presented the cups and acknowledgments to the team placement winners-the USA women’s team which came in first, the Spanish team which came in second and Germany which came in third. He also awarded the winners of 42nd world military championship-the teams from Qatar, Poland and Algiers.

Major General Radivoj Vukobradovic, the representatives of SAF GS, presented the cups to footsal winners-to the team from Croatia, the Slovenian team which came in second and the team from Serbia which came in third.

State Secretary Zoran Jeftic was the one who presented the special scrolls to the winners of these to championships. On that occasion he said that the ball which was used to play the final FIFA-CISM footsal match would be exhibited in the Military Museum, where a special exhibition dedicated to sports will be made.

CISM Secretary General Colonel Mishell van Mers commended the organization of the championship, especially the activity and dedication of State Secretary Jeftic and Colonel Branko Boskovic.

Colonel van Mers presented the CISM knights medals to Lt. Col. Dragan Todorov, Warrant Officer Radmila Djuric and Senior Sergeant Igor Vukovic and soldier Mirko Petrovic.
At the end of the closing ceremony, acknowledgements were presented to the most distinguished individuals and contestants who contributed to a top-quality organization of 42nd World Military Marathon Championship and 1st FIFA-CISM footsal.
