Meeting between Minister Vulin and Ambassador Chepurin



Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin met today the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Serbia, Alexander Chepurin with whom he talked about further enhancement of defence cooperation and current security situation in the region and world.
 
The interlocutors agreed that the Republic of Serbia and Russian Federation meticulously build and maintain very good and traditionally friendly relations. During the talks Minister Vulin expressed gratitude for the support received until that moment. 

- I am grateful to the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergey Shoygu for having invited me to participate in the Seventh Moscow conference on international security where I had an opportunity, with the colleagues from all over the world, to share in an open and constructive discussion, the gained experiences and positions on preservation and further advancement of international security, and European security in particular – said Minister Vulin and pointed out that the position of the Republic of Serbia was known in terms of resolving all open issues through a political dialogue and consensus. Also, the minister of defence stressed that the military neutrality is permanent orientation of the Republic of Serbia.
 
Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Vulin highlighted that the Republic of Serbia strived towards providing a normal life for Serbian community in that area, and that our country highly appreciated the support provided by the Russian Federation in relation to that particular issue. He particularly thanked for the principled stance of the Russian Federation regarding the preservation of territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
 
Ambassador Chepurin underlined that the cooperation between ministers Vulin and Shoygu had marked significant results and he thanked the Minister Vulin for his participation in the work of the security conference and for personal contribution to development of cooperation of the two ministries.
