Telegram of Condolence to the Secretary of Defence of the United States of America



Following the tragic crash of US military helicopter and death of marines in California, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin sent a telegram of condolence to the Secretary of Defence of the United States of America, James Mattis. The telegram reads as follows:

“The risks to which soldiers are exposed while discharging their daily duties can be percieved only after aircraft accidents that occur during execution of regular tasks. Unfortunately, the crash of the US helicopter CH-53E Super Stallion from the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing in California shows the dangers with which the members of your armed forces are faced.

I avail myself of this opportunity to offer the heartfelt condolences for this terrible accident on behalf of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and me personally.

Please convey the sympathy and condolences of all the members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces to the families of the perished.”
