Telegram of condolences to US Secretary of Defense




 
Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin sent a telegram of condolences to US Secretary of Defense James Mattis on the occasion of the accident that took place when a United States military helicopter crashed in western Iraqi province of Al Anbar.
 
The telegram reads:
"Dear Mr. Matisse, distinguished colleague,
 
It is difficult to accept the sad news of an accident that occurred when the United States Armed Forces helicopter crashed in Anbar province in the west of Iraq.
 
At these moments, I wish to emphasise the importance of a common and uncompromising fight against terrorism, which is constantly jeopardising and undermining the values of contemporary civilisation and society. The courage and sacrifice of the victims, as well as everyone involved in this fight, deserve our admiration and eternal gratitude.
 
Members of the Ministry of Defenc and the Serbian Armed Forces and I share in your grief and the grief of the families of the perished in this tragic event."
