Continuation of Filming of the TV Series the “Military Academy”

The Ministry of Defence and Ratio Television of Serbia have signed a contract today on joint realisation of a project and continuation of filming of a feature series the “Military Academy” on the premises of the Administration Building of the University of Defence.

The contract for the filming of the fourth season of the popular series was signed by Vice-Chancellor of the University of Defence Major General Prof Mladen Vuruna and Dragan Bujošević Director-General of the RTS.

According to General Vuruna, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin decided that the Ministry of Defence signed the contract with the RTS on the continuation of filming of the fourth season of the “Military Academy” and that all required capacities of the University of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces should be put at disposal to the team that would be working on that project. Expressing satisfaction with the fact that the RTS continued the filming of the “Military Academy”, Director-General Bujošević pointed out that previous three seasons had been very successful, and that they had certainly been beneficial for the Serbian Armed Forces as well. He reminded that the viewers had grown fond of the series, particularly among the younger audience, and having in mind that the same team would continue the work on the fourth season, Bujošević said that he hoped, just like it was the case with the previous season, the “Military Academy” would remain one of the most viewed series that the RTS had ever broadcasted.

As director Dejan Zečević pointed out the fourth season of the “Military Academy”, along with the stories about the fates of the main characters, would offer to the viewers new and interesting twists with stress on new cadets introduced to the audience in the previous season. He emphasised that the focus of the new season would be placed on the military aspect of the story because the characters would spend a lot of time in uniforms at exercises which meant that the audience in front of the screens would have an opportunity to gain insight into the military life on terrain and at military exercises.

Speaking about the significance of the series, Head of Public Relations Department in the Ministry of Defence Navy Captain Petar Bošković expressed his satisfaction with the continuation of collaboration between the Ministry and the RTS on the project, stressing that it was a long-lasting collaboration that had helped a lot at the time of the professionalization of our armed forces. As Navy Captain Bošković underlined the series had shown to the public that the members of the armed forces do not live under the bell jar and that everything that happens in the Military Academy happens in the real life as well. He added that in the new episodes, the audience would see how much sacrifices and self-denying the military life entails and how the professional soldiers are made from such still young people who will be there for their fatherland and their people.

He also particularly highlighted that the team who had worked on the series paid attention to the smallest details, so in the “Military Academy” there are no swear words and brutalities, which other series abound with, but this series was the proof that good ratings could be achieved in this way as well.

Today’s signing of the contract was attended by Nele Garić from production house “Nira Pro” and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
