Congratulatory Message for the Day of Intelligence Service
I congratulate 5th March – Day of Intelligence Service to all the member of the Service.
Continuing more than a century long tradition when on this day in 1884 a Decree was passed on the General Staff Service, by which for the first time in the modern Serbian state an organisational unit was established that exclusively dealt with military intelligence work, you demonstrated in the year behind us the necessity and justifiability of the existence of the Intelligence Service owing to a highly educated and professional personnel, the quality of human potential, modernisation of the system for gathering and processing information and implementation of world standards.
Wishing that you continue resolving the challenges ahead of you with equal success thus ensuring the stability of defence system of the Republic of Serbia, I congratulate this holiday to you.
Congratulatory Message for the Day of the Military Intelligence Agency
I extend sincere congratulations for the 5th March – Day of the Military Intelligence Agency to all its members.
On this day in 1884 a Decree was passed on the General Staff Service, by which for the first time in the modern Serbian state an organisational unit was established that exclusively dealt with military intelligence work, and it defined the role of a General Staff profession, and the organisation and the purview of the Main General Staff which consisted of three divisions. Continuing the tradition of the Foreign Section of the Operations Division that studied countries and armed forces of the European and neighbouring states, chiefly their organisation, manning, composition, strength, dislocation, education and structure, through professional execution of assigned tasks, you have demonstrated that you are a key factor of intelligence-security system of both the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia.
I congratulate this holiday to you and I wish that you further advance the work of the Agency in the forthcoming period, of which I am certain.
