The One who Hides Jasenovac, Celebrates the Storm

Asked to comment on the attacks of the Republic of Croatia against the Exhibition about Jasenovac that was set up by Serbia in New York, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin pointed out that the United Nations had been created so that the Second World War would never repeat in the form of some Third World War, and that the horrors of the Nazi ideology would repeat never again.

- All the countries with such dark history, which have Nazi past, have dealt with their past, they repented and they do their best to prevent that past from returning, to prevent it repeating, so that no one suffers again such evil that they did in the past; All but Croatia. Croatia is the only country in Europe in which Antifascists have to apologise to Fascists, and Croatia is the only country in Europe and the world which not only has not dealt with the Second World War past, but the past has repeated in our time. The one who tries to hide Jasenovac, he celebrates the Storm the next day. The one who tries to hide the crimes of Ustasha, he again restores the Ustasha in Croatia that we see today – Minister Vulin said.

He said that they could proclaim Alojzije Stepinas a saint, but that would not change the fact that he had been the suffragan of Ustasha armed forces and that he had commanded 1000 spiritual fathers, Catholic priests in Ustasha armed forces who had blessed their crimes and often participated in them.

- If it wishes to be a part of the civilised world, Croatia would have to understand that it will not become better by hiding Jasenovac, but it will become better by admitting the crimes of Jasenovac. The one who hides the memory of Jasenovac, he celebrates the Storm and he celebrates the ethnical cleansing.

Croatia needs to quickly understand that it must not deny the crimes from the Second World War since, otherwise, the crimes will be repeated, because those crimes have been repeated in our lifetime, in our generation - Minister Vulin stressed.
