Defence System Functions as One
During the official celebration on the occasion of Day of Military Veterans, the Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojša Stefanović was presented with the Golden Plaque of the Ministry of Defence.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of all winners of the recognition, he highlighted that he perceived the recognition not only as a reward to the Ministry of Interior for an excellent cooperation in the security system which, according to him, had been functioning better and better over the previous several years.
- Maybe it is even more important that the security system functions as one, in a way that you do not look at the colour of the uniform, nor to which service or ministry certain individual belongs, but you look into how much he can contribute to Serbia. Congratulating the holiday to all war veterans, I wish to emphasise that I am proud to live in such a homeland which takes care of people who indebted it, who make us proud and to whom we are truly grateful.
Minister Stefanović underlined that Serbia had always waged liberation wars in which it demonstrated extraordinary courage and honour, and that it must not forget its sons and daughters who had given life for its freedom.
- Today, the state appreciates what the warriors and military veterans did for it and it actively involves them in the process of transferring knowledge to the younger generations. It is up to all of us who deal today with security system of the Republic of Serbia to make maximum effort to ensure that the conflicts never repeat and that Serbia is always ready to build a constructive future, but also ready to defend itself and its sky and its territory and its people and its every man – Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojša Stefanović stated.
