Budget for the army is a quarter higher than in previous years

Answering the journalist's question after the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Association of Serbian Insurers on the amount of budget allocation for  the Ministry of Defence for the next year and whether these funds are higher than in the previous year, Minister Vulin pointed out that this ministry, thanks to understanding of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and thanks to the understanding of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, received a 25 percent higher budget than it was in the previous years.

- Our budget now amounts to some 70 billion and 500 million dinars, and the largest part of was, of course, earmarked for the standard of our members, that is, through the increase in salaries, but really significant funds, large funds, to continue arming, to continue equipping with the state-of-art combat systems and, of course, to maintain and repair our materiel. There is, of course, significant money provided for the continuation of housing construction, and, of course, we expect with great impatience that the government Commission, which has been formed on the basis of the order of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Force, Mr Aleksandar Vučić, comes out with a concrete plan and project for mass housing construction for all members of the security sector. It is with great pleasure that I can say that, here, Serbia once again showed how much it cares about the military personnel and how much it cares for our security, our safety, and how much it is worth to, thanks to such a strong Serbian Armed Forces, we preserve the policy of the military neutrality - Minister Vulin emphasized.
