Minister Vulin: Strong and Respected Armed Forces a Guarantee of Peace

“No one desires war and no one is looking forward to it. We can avoid war solely with a strong policy and armed forces that everybody respects and with which no one wants to enter into conflict and the Serbian Armed Forces are just like that” Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said answering a reporter’s question about his views on a possible scenario of German Military Intelligence Service according to which we could witness the disintegration of the EU and a war in Europe.

“All military intelligence services test all scenarios and possibilities of future events. Particularly interesting was that it was stated rather loudly that they could not exclude the possibility of some kind of war in Europe. And that is something that we as well need to understand, that no armed forces can at any time exclude the war as the worst means, the war is something that no one is looking forward to and does not want something like that to happen, but the purpose of armed forces is to be ready for the case of war. If German military service does not exclude this possibility, how can our armed forces say that it is not preparing for the war then? We are preparing for the war, we are always ready for that, and we will avoid the war only if we have strong policy, just like the one we currently have, and if we pursue the policy of military neutrality and of course if we have armed forces which is respected by everybody and with which no one wants to enter into conflict. Serbian Armed Forces are just like that” Minister Vulin said.
