Minister Sutanovac met with the minister of defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina



Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac stated in Sarajevo today that good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia should be the pillar of good relations between the two countries.

At the press conference held jointly with the Minister of Defense of BiH Selmo Cikotic, Sutanovac talked about the possibility of cooperation in defense industry, education, peacekeeping missions, while the citizens of BiH federation were offered to use the facilities and services of the Military Medical Academy under the same conditions as they are offered to the citizens of Serbia.

Sutanovac reminded that as part of the reforms within the military health care system and establishing the Military University,including the Medical School as well, it was not necessary for the citizens of BiH to meet their needs for health care at another institution.

Cikotic also said that the Serbian side had expressed great interest in buying a large number of air crafts, tanks, combat vehicles and artillery, and that there was readiness to finish this job to both side’s satisfaction, but that it was necessary for the Government of BiH to approve the list of costs.

The Ministers also pointed out that all activities regarding the surplus of the military property should be transparent and in line with the law in order to avoid negative connotations which these jobs inspire.

Furthermore, as Beta reports,there were many domains with enough room to promote cooperation adding that he had already invited Cikotic to visit Belgrade, and that the had accepted the invitation of BiH MoD for the soldiers of SAF to take part in the military exercise in Banjaluka in September.
The Minister of Defense of Serbia took this opportunity to remind the media of very good results in the exports of arms and military equipment that Serbia had achieved recently.

As regards the issue of capturing and arresting Ratko Mladic, Sutanovac said that all military and civil security services were deployed but that giving the order to arrest the war commander of the Republika Srpska Army would mean that we possess the info of his whereabouts.

Both Defense Ministers agreed that they shared a very burdensome and oppressive history which should not slip into oblivion but rather should be used as a chance for further cooperation both countries could benefit from.

Furthermore, the Minister also met with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Nikola Spiric and the BiH Presidnecy Chairman Nebojsa Radmanovic.
