Laying a wreath at the monument to the Iron Regiment



At the monument to the Iron Regiment in the village of Igrište near Kuršumlija, today, a jubilee - 105 years since the establishment of the Second Infantry Regiment "Knjaz Mihailo", better known as the Iron Regiment has been celebrated with military honours.
 
After the memorial service for the fallen heroes, performed by priests from the Holy Trinity Church in Kuršumlija, the Commander of the 3rd Army Brigade Colonel Predrag Grbić laid the wreaths on behalf of the Serbian Armed Forces, then the President of the Kuršumlija Municipality, Radoljub Vidić, the Association of Iron Regiment Igrište, on whose initiative the monumenta was built, SUBNOR, the Alliance of Descendants of Warriors from 1912 to 1920 from Kuršumlija and Niš and other associations.
 
On this occasion, the celebration of the jubilee was announced - 100 years since the end of the First World War, which is to be marked on 3rd October 2018, with the opening of the memorial room for the Iron Regiment in the village of Igrište.
