Anniversary of the Battle of Deligrad Marked



In the memorial church of the Holy Archangel Gabriel in Deligrad, today, the 211th anniversary of one of the most important battles in the First Serbian Uprising has been marked. After the liturgy and parastos, the dean of the church, archpriest Dragoljub Savić, spoke about the Battle of Deligrad, and then the wreaths were laid on the memorial ossuary.
 
On behalf of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans' and Social Affairs, the wreath was laid by State Secretary Negovan Stanković, while the wreath of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces was laid by the Commander of the Mixed Artillery Brigade, Colonel Zvonko Stojković, with the delegation. The wreaths were also laid by citizens' associations, reserve military officers and a society for preserving tradition from Aleksinac.
