Minister Vulin at "ЕХРО 2017" in Kazakhstan

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin began his first official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan today with an international exhibition "ЕХРО 2017".  The international specialized exhibition "Astana Expo-2017" is being organized this year under the motto "Energy is the Future" and Serbia is one of almost 50 countries represented at this significant event.

On that occasion, Minister Vulin said:

- It is valuable and important to show what Serbia has to offer to the whole world. Our booth is very well visited and our hosts from Kazakhstan pay great attention to our delegation. Serbia has also shown here, at the world exhibition, the scope of creativity of its people and how much knowledge we have to offer it to the whole world. Being in such places is very important because they offer many businesses opportunities and you can show what technology you have and learn something from others, and Serbia can certainly teach others but it can also learn from others.

Speaking about the visit to Kazakhstan, Vulin said that the focus will be on the possibilities for engaging our defence industry.

- Kazakhstan is a big country, a country that has access to a market of over sixty million people and indeed has a significant opportunity to enable the defence industry of Serbia to place its technology and its knowledge and its finished products in this large market. I will talk to all the people in Kazakhstan who make decisions on such things. I will talk both with the Minister of Defence and the minister in charge of the defence industry, with the Prime Minister, with the Deputy President, with all those who are very much interested in what the defence industry of Serbia can show exactly in this area. The most important purpose of our visit will be how to open a space for the defence industry of Serbia. Much of this space has already been opened by the visit of President Vučić, the visit that is still being talked about and which is very much appreciated, and it is up to me to continue that way.

The international exhibition Expo 2017 was opened on 10th June and it will last until 10th September; it is expected that almost five million people visit it, including two million tourists.

The delegation of the Ministry of Defence will stay in Kazakhstan until 5th September, and during the visit, Minister Vulin will meet with Defence Minister Saken Zhasuzakov and Minister of Defence and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Atamkul Beibut, and they will also visit companies of the Kazakhstan defence industry and the National Space Center.
