Protection of President in Accordance with Legal Authorisation



Further to the communique of the Police Union of Serbia, and for the purpose of thorough public information, the Ministry of Defence stresses that the engagement of the members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces on personal protection of the President of the Republic of Serbia, is conducted exclusively in accordance with the Law on the President of the Republic (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No. 111/2007) and the Regulation on defining the activities of personal protection of certain individuals and facilities (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No. 72/2010 and No. 64/2013).
 
The Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces will in the future, like it has been done so far, take care of the security of protected individuals solely in line with legal authorisations. Everything else is an incorrect and malicious interpretation. The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defence closely cooperate and will cooperate regarding all issues of security.
