Defence Minister extends congratulatory message on the Military Museum Day

I extend to all members of the Military Museum congratulations as they celebrate 22nd August – the day of the establishment.

Continuing the long tradition of almost a century and a half, when it was founded by the Decree of Prince Milan Obrenović, in 1878, the Military Museum has contributed to the presentation of the rich cultural treasury of the Republic of Serbia.

Thanks to the perseverance in the research and collection of museum materials, the continuous work on the permanent exhibition, the organisation of thematic exhibitions and the provision of assistance in the establishment and work of the memorial room of the Serbian Armed Forces, you make a significant contribution to the development of museum activities in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and culture and traditions in the system. Apart from good international cooperation, through your exhibitions you make publicly available museum items from the Military Museum collections and you a true indicator of the value of military cultural heritage.

I congratulate you on your holiday, wishing you to achieve success in the realisation of activities in the field of culture and traditions both in the Ministry of Defence and at the state level, and to achieve remarkable results in the forthcoming period.
