Minister recieves the AMET team



Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac received today the six-member team of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces (AMET-1) which participated in the UN mission in Congo (MONUC). The members of the team, Colonel Djordje Mancic, PhD, the leader of the team, Major Bozidar Jakovljevic and medical technicians Djordje Kukric, Bojan Jovanovic, Bojan Djindjic and Aleksandar Milic were deployed in this mission from 12 July 2008 to 20 February 2009.

MONUC was established in November 1999 based on the UN Resolution 1279. it is one of three UN missions with members of SAF as participants and is the only mission where our country has sent a unit (2 doctors and four medical technicians who form the air borne medical evacuation team.

The medical team located in Kinshasa has been present since March 2003. The basic task is providing air medical escort to the ill and gravely injured patients.
