Minister Sutanovac and Algerian Amabassador visit VTI

20 young men who will end their studies will be the best ambassadors of Serbia in Algiers. We plan to host new students and to enhance this cooperation, stated Minister Sutanovac. On that occasion he highlighted that some 140 foreign students were at the studies ion our schools and that cooperation in this domain will be enhanced. Sutanovac expects the Military Academy, and the Military Medical Institute as well as other educational institutions to be found at the world map of schools which provide adequate education.
The Ambassador of Algiers His Excellence Abdelkader Mesdua thanked for the opportunity to witness the excellent conditions provided for foreign students, while stressing that he was thus given an opportunity to see the professionalism of the people working in the Institute. The ambassador voiced his stance that VTI was technologically speaking very advanced and was certainly not lagging behind any other similar institutions in the world. He underlined that he had enormous trust in the future development of these relations, while hoping that this cooperation would fully blossom in the future.
Answering the reporters’ questions regarding the possibility of buying the products of the Serbian defense industry, Ambassador Mesdua stated that he was certain his visit would be followed by the visits of experts in this field.
In a press statement given after the visit, Minister Sutanovac added that both sides showed interest in joint investments with the Algerian side, especially with the Ministry of Defense of Algiers, and with a wish to promote international military cooperation, and to promote defense industry. Furthermore, the visit of the Serbian delegation to Algiers is planned where among other things, both sides will consider the possibilities for cooperation in this area as well.
He took this opportunity to invite all interested youths to apply for the Military Academy since the competition is going to be fierce this year.
During the visit of the Military technical Institute, Colonel Mladen Pantic, the Director of this institution, introduced the guests with the potentials and the results in research of this institute. More than 1300 arms had been developed in the institute for al three branches of the army, stated the minister, where 75 % of arms in possession of the army had bee constructed here. The guests also visited the facilities where lessons are held, and the trisonic avio tunnel and the Lab for Statistical and Dynamic Material Testing.
The lessons are organized for 12 specialist studies. So far, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the labs in the Institute, and to tour the technical repair institutes as well as the production facilities of these institutions. After the first term, the foreign students from Algiers received the highest grade, 9.53. The education of students at master studies lasts two years and they will stay in our country until their master thesis is done and defended.
At the end of the visit, Colonel Mladen Petrovic awarded a monograph to Dragan Sutanovac and the emblem of VTI to the Algerian ambassador.
