Meeting with Directors of Serbian Defence Industry Companies
The Minister of Defence, Zoran Đorđević with his associates met with Directors of the companies from the Serbian Defence Industry group and the Directors of Technical Overhaul Facilities and Technical Test Centre, as well as with the Presidents of the boards of those companies.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Private Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Kojić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mirjana Ćojbašić, President of the Executive Board of the Serbian Bank ltd. Vesna Jokanović and Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradović.
Many activities were reconsidered during the meeting in relation to investments and measures taken in line with conclusions previously defined at the meeting in the Government of the Republic of Serbia this year in April. On the basis of Government Decision, a total of around 49.9 million euros was allocated for investment in modernisation and enhancement of production and overhauling capacities of Serbian defence industry.
- The Government is oriented towards continuing investing in defence industry companies, since it represents an impetus for the further development of our economy – the Minister stressed. Đorđević pointed out the significant exporting potential of the companies from Serbian Defence Industry group, which contributes to the economic growth of the country and further employment.
Participants in the meeting discussed the current projects of the companies and military institutions in defence system, as well as on the need to monitor the spending of resources allocated for defence.
