The Sports Championship of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Concluded
Today, in barracks “Dedinje” in Belgrade, the Sports Championship of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces was closed. The Championship was attended by representatives of Departments of the General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces and the representatives of the units.
The first place at the sixth Sports Championship of the General Staff was taken by the team of Military Police Department; the second went to the General Staff Team while the Guard won the third place.
The best individual in the military multi-discipline competition, just like the last Championship, was Senior Sergeant 1st class Miroslav Lacković from Military Police Department, the best marksman in the discipline pistol is Major Ivan Tanacković, while in the discipline pistol the golden medal went to Major Predrag Veličković.
In the female competition, the best in discipline rifle was Lieutenant Nevena Jovanović from the Military Police Department and in discipline pistol was First Sergeant Irena Ognjanović from the team of the Gurad.
After conferring the Cup to the team of the Military Police Department, the Championship was officially closed by the Head of Operations Department of the General Staff, Brigadier General Duško Žarković who took the opportunity to stress the significance of participation in sports championships and to draw the attention to the forthcoming selection of competitors who would make part of the General Staff team at the Sports Championship of the Serbian Armed Forces 2018. Apart from that, he commended the members of the Guard for having provided optimal conditions and for good organisation of this sports event.
