Bills proposed by Ministry of Defence passed



The Members of Parliament of the Republic of Serbia passed today the bills proposed by the Ministry of Defence.

It is the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the United Nations on Contributing Resources to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Government of Montenegro, Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on the establishment of the Balkan Military Medical Forces, Bill on the Confirmation of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Slovak Republic and Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Military-Technical Cooperation.


In his explanation of the passed bills at the Sitting of the National Assembly on Friday, Minister Djordjevic talked about their significance for the defence system, stressing that Agreements on cooperation with Slovakia and Belarus are necessary in order to further develop and enhance defence and military technical collaboration.
 
“Participation of Serbia in the Balkan Military Medical Forces contributes to a large extent to development of bilateral relations, establishment, collaboration and trust in the region of the Western Balkans, as well as the enhancement of its own defence capacities and capabilities for the active participation in the processes of cooperation and joint activities with other countries and factors of international relations in establishing national, regional and global security”, Minister Djordjevic said. 
 
Serbia has officially become the contributor of forces in multinational operation MINUSCA and the equal partner with other countries, which are contributors of forces by confirmation of the Memorandum related to participation in the mission in the Central African Republic.

Before the Session of the National Assembly on Friday, the Fifth Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee was held, when the mentioned bills were reviewed.
