Visit of National Defence College of Nigeria



Students of the National Defence College of the Federal Republic of Nigeria led by Brigadier General Bakare Adekola Raheem are in a weekly student visit to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

 
Within the student visit the Nigerian delegation visited the Military Academy and the Military Medical Academy. The organizational units of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff were presented to them, and they were the guests of the Special Brigade in Pancevo.
 
During their visit to the Military Academy, students of the Nigerian highest military education institution were informed about the history of the Serbian military education system, organization and responsibilities of the Military Academy, as well as the fields of study at graduate, master and PhD academic studies. The guests were informed about all levels of specialized training and possibilities of education of members of foreign armed forces at the Military Academy and the University of Defence.
 
On this occasion Brigadier General Bakare Adekola Raheem presented the aims of the visit of students, as well as the military education institution they come from and expressed contentment with cordial reception and comprehensive presentation of the military education system in Serbia.
 
At the Military Medical Academy there was the presentation of work of this prestigious institution in the field of treatment, scientific research, as well as education and training, where the Nigerian representatives were very interested to hear about the latest methods of treatment in the MMA, the experiences of the MMA doctors in the treatment of tropical diseases, transplantation and treatment of malignant diseases, tuberculosis and HIV.
 
The most significant activities of the Serbian Armed Forces and General Staff Departments were presented to the Nigerian guests in Topcider barracks. Representatives of the Joint Operations Command, the Department for Planning and Development, the Logistics Department and the Training and Doctrine Department informed the guests about the engagement of the Armed Forces, capabilities development, as well as the concept of logistic support in operations, training and exercises at a national and multinational level. The Nigerian delegation then visited the Special Brigade in “Rastko Nemanjic” barracks in Pancevo, where they had an opportunity to make sure of capabilities of members of this unit and see a tactical display of armament and equipment.
 
In the following days students of the National Defence College of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will visit the Military Technical Institute and Nikinci training ground, and they will also have a chance to get to know capacities of the Serbian Defence Industry.
