Defense Minister opens a new gastroenterology bloc at MMA

The Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac opened a renovated bloc of the newly-equipped gastroenterology diagnostics bloc at the Military Medical Academy. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Chief of SAF GS LTG Miloje Miletic.

With the adaptation of this bloc all conditions necessary for the implementation of the brand new diagnostics methods have been created as well as for implementation of the latest treatment techniques and the possibility for many patients to be hospitalized in a daily hospital.

As the Minister was eager to point out at the opening- this was just the start of investments, which are to be made into the equipment MMA needs for better functioning which would enable it to be ranked as one of the top medical institutions both when it comes to qualified staff and best equipment in the country and the region.

-We spent some 800 million RSD last year in order to buy new equipment. Part of that equipment will be delivered this year and I expect the new MRI to be delivered soon as well, stated Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia Dragan Sutanovac.

This occasion was an opportunity for the Minister to remind that MA would be celebrating 165 years of its existence on Monday and that this year would be a year of restoring the fame and repute this institution once had as well as of renewing of military healthcare. Furthermore, another plan is for the military healthcare to be rejuvenated with an inflow of new doctors, while the focal task of MMA would be the participation of MMA in the organization of University Olympic Games.

The Head of the Military Medical Academy Major General Miodrag Jeftic PhD reminded that the clinic for gastroenterology was one of the most burdened clinics in MMA.

Latest medical equipment, trained and qualified personnel headed by Colonels Radoje Doder, PhD and Dino Tarabar PhD along with Nenad Prisic PhD can all provide the highest level of medical services in our country and the region especially whemn it comes to endoscope and intervention procedures.
