Minister at the annual conference of DAs
At the Third Annual Conference of Serbian Defense Attaches accredited abroad, which was held in Topcider yesterday, Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac briefed the DAs thoroughly of the current situation in the defense system regarding the most important questions. Going through all segments and organizational units, the Minister presented the major achievements in the last 1.5 years as well as plans and projects for the upcoming period.The Minister took this opportunity to draw the attention of the conference participants to the successful establishment of the civil control over the armed forces, the procedure of passing new laws and bylaws and the reorganization of the Ministry of Defense as well as equipping and infrastructure projects, and issues regarding international military cooperation.
In his address, the Chief of SAF GS< LTG Miloje Miletic who alos took part in the conference, presented the achieved level of reforms in SAF stressing the ongoing process of gradual professionalizing of the armed forces. On that occasion he pointed out that the armed forces today in comparison to the period two years ago had a rather different prospect and outlook, with room to improve and modernize the military further.The purpose of the yesterday’s conference was the analysis of the work of our defense representations, exchange of experiences, informing DAs regarding their own duties and the effectiveness of their performance as well as giving guidelines for further work in this year. The DAs, during their 5-day stay in their home country, will hold a number of planned and plenary sessions and individual consultations.
