For the purpose of right interpretation of the information given by the Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic in his statement to TASS News Agency after the meeting with Minister Shoigu on the issue of participation of Serbia in demining in Syria, we explain that Mr. Djordjevic confirmed to the Agency that this was one of the topics of the talks between two ministers.
However, Minister Djordjevic said on that occasion that Serbia currently has neither capacities nor units trained for such mission, but we are willing to send our personnel to training. After that, possibly at the end of 2018, they could take part in humanitarian demining everywhere in the world, including Syria.
